Calendar Art

Room 12 made handprint and foot print art.  I made a monkey and I dyed a yellow background.  I had to paint my hand to make the monkey.  I had to paint the eyes white.  I did a tree by my monkey.  

When I was making my calendar art I stopped and showed GRIT by not giving up.

I saw a nice picture of a monkey that looked quite interesting, I wrote footprint and handprint art in Google to find it.

I feel happy about my artwork because I worked hard at drawing the tree.

My challenge was putting the eyes on the monkey.

Skimming Reading Strategy Term 3 Week 4

Skimming is easy to do. 

1.   to skim you can look at the blurb.
2.   look at the title.
3.   look at the picture. 
4.   look at the chapters.
5.   look at the starting sentences and   finishing ones.  

WALT skim an unknown text so that we can QUICKLY get an understanding of it.  I can decide if a book has useful information I need,or whether I want to read it for pleasure.

  It was good.  The fritters were tasty and most people liked them.   

Area - Week 6

Room 12 is learning about area.  Just multiply the number of units down by the number of units across.

Minecraft - Week 5

Building castles are good because they protect you from monsters and rain.
Build a wall made out of rock or smooth stone.  If people go into your home, hide your special stuff under ground.  Put Dispensers around your home, but keep them on to attack monsters and people.

Booeding kasolws are good bekousie they pritet you from mostis and ranien.  Booed a wollei madaid out of rook or smovi stooni.  If pepolle go into your home hid your spesol staff undor graod. Pot aspesors a raoidn your home.  But cep then on to ateici mostor and pepilloi.            

The Summarising Strategy - Week 4

Summarising is about using key words to help you describe or retell in your own words.  If you write something not in your own words it is called plagiarism. 

I read a book called A Bird that could think.  
Here are some keywords from it: bird and nut

Here is a sentence with the two keywords:
The bird found a nut on a tree, it got the nut off the tree and dropped it onto the grass.

Minecraft - Week 2

Minecraft is an easy game, only if you are on creative mode.  Don't chuck your stuff on the ground or
people will steal your stuff.  Make a home out of bricks or concrete.  Creepers are deadly 
because they blowup.  

My Lego - Week 1

This is my lego at home.  

Can you find the security camera?

Oh no, Lord Business wants to use the craggle (it is like glue) but 

Wild Style will stop him from using the craggle.

The piece of resistance can stop the craggle.  The craggle squirts glue at people and it makes them still, he wants to rule the world. Lord Business is the baddest in the Lego Movie.  

Captain America

Today I dressed as Captain America.  Captain America has a shield.

My Buddy

Max - well he is 5,  he is my new buddy.  He loves boxes, he uses them to make cars and stuff.  I am looking forward to having my buddy from Room 6 & 7.

                                                                              

My Lego

This is my lego at my house.  The king is attacking the micro manager and Emmett is trying to run away (he has brown hair).  He doesn't want to die, the micro manager wants to kill him by cutting his neck off with the sword.  The king is going to try and kill the micro manager to save Emmett.  

I like to do Lego after school and in the holidays and the weekends.  I am lucky because I have heaps of Lego from my family.

Maths

Room 12 has been learning about translation (slideing), also Reflection (flipping) and Rotation (turning) .
This has been a fun maths exercise which I really enjoy.
