I have been working on my writing. My goals were punctuation and capital letters for names. I tried my personal best. I am proud of my work. Something that challenged me was finding information.                                                  

Matariki

Room 2,3 and 4 have been learning about Matariki the 7 stars.

Matariki is fun and this is what we did. I did carving I love it I wood do it agent (again). I all so did plating we have to (two) totara trees 

in Parkvale school. I love matariki it is fun I would love to do it again. I have been yousing(using) my learning musll in  carving it is helping with my learning. My learning musll(muscles) are notsing and perseverance. I had to watch so I could see how to use the carver. I had to persevere because it was hard to carve it out and going around the curves.

How to look after a Japanese spitz

A  Japanese spitz is a type of dog and it is one of the longest living breeds. It can live up to sixteen. A Japanese spitz things it is human. They are a good guard dog. They dig holes when they are  they small.

Japanese spitz are fluffy and they moult in summer when it's hot.

What you need?

1. Dog brush
2. Vacuum Cleaner
3. Dog food
4. Dog kennel
5. Lead
6. Collar
7. Dog bowl
8. Dog toys  

   I have a Japanese spitz his name is Spike.

I am proud of this writing because I really worked my personal best on it because I think it wood help someone who gets one. I think my writing has lots of detail. Next time I wood put some more steps in.

I had to blend with the pastels and go dark to light. Blending is when the colour overlaps. As you make the path you have to make it smaller and smaller so it looks like it is in the distance and going over the hills.

Kitten Writing

Zzzz!!! I was in my bed sleeping when suddenly I hored(heard) something moving through the door. “I think that's just nathink (nothing)” I said to myself.

Aaaaaaaaaa!!! I'm having a nitemer(nightmare) Aaaaaaaaaa Aaaaaaaaa!!!  Suddenly I houd(heard) the something agen(again) “it’s not nothing it’s something!!!” I said. It was like knocking knock knock. I standed up and opined(opened) the door it was brown and white and foure(fury).Meow meow meow!!! A kitten was on my bed.I went to my bed and watied for the morning. The kiten went to sleep.The kitin snuglled (snuggled) up and pered(purred) quitle(quietly)  In the morning I shod(showed) my mum we fed it but then we saw a sine(sign) it seid(said) missing  kitten so to  then we gave it back.   

Omatua camp

 Totara Whanau went to omatua camp and we had lots of fun and this is what we did. We stop on the way at Puketapu park and I had a turn zooming on the fling (flying) fox. My favourite part of camp was when I went to Weka for the night we rosted (roasted) marshmlos (marshmellows) over the fire.

My biggest challenge was walking a cross the swing brig (bridge) at Weka. My athor (other) biggest challenge was walking down the mountain at weka too because the year six's and five.

Vocab

I have been learning to write about scuttled and surly in my own words and I no (know) what they mean now. Something that challenged me was writing the meaning in my own words.

Presentation

I love japaneses spitz so here is my presentation. I have been learning to put information  on the Google slide. I have been working on my Google slide and it was hard to get the information in my oon words.         

Calendar Art

Room 12 made handprint and foot print art.  I made a monkey and I dyed a yellow background.  I had to paint my hand to make the monkey.  I had to paint the eyes white.  I did a tree by my monkey.  

When I was making my calendar art I stopped and showed GRIT by not giving up.

I saw a nice picture of a monkey that looked quite interesting, I wrote footprint and handprint art in Google to find it.

I feel happy about my artwork because I worked hard at drawing the tree.

My challenge was putting the eyes on the monkey.

Skimming Reading Strategy Term 3 Week 4

Skimming is easy to do. 

1.   to skim you can look at the blurb.
2.   look at the title.
3.   look at the picture. 
4.   look at the chapters.
5.   look at the starting sentences and   finishing ones.  

WALT skim an unknown text so that we can QUICKLY get an understanding of it.  I can decide if a book has useful information I need,or whether I want to read it for pleasure.

  It was good.  The fritters were tasty and most people liked them.   

Area - Week 6

Room 12 is learning about area.  Just multiply the number of units down by the number of units across.

Minecraft - Week 5

Building castles are good because they protect you from monsters and rain.
Build a wall made out of rock or smooth stone.  If people go into your home, hide your special stuff under ground.  Put Dispensers around your home, but keep them on to attack monsters and people.

The Summarising Strategy - Week 4

Summarising is about using key words to help you describe or retell in your own words.  If you write something not in your own words it is called plagiarism. 

I read a book called A Bird that could think.

Minecraft - Week 2

Minecraft is an easy game, only if you are on creative mode.  Don't chuck your stuff on the ground or
people will steal your stuff.  Make a home out of bricks or concrete.  Creepers are deadly 
because they blowup.
